  1. Lisey's Story by Stephen King.

  2. Paulo Coehlo. Any of them will work.

  3. twilight =]

  4. I personally would not suggest anything that lacks literary purpose if you're giving it to your english teacher (Mary Higgins Clark, etc.). They may be interesting, but they don't hold a lot of weight in the literary world.

Perhaps The Parisian Prowler (might be under Le Paris de Spleen) by Charles Baudelaire? I'd give her something that won't seem as if you undermine her intelligence, and, since english teachers are generally well read, try and think of what she might not have read. I think any volume of poetry might be good, as there are so many poets out there and you always get something new out of the prose no matter how many times you have read it. You could get Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman or anything by Baudelaire, Dickinson, Lowell, e.e. cummings, Angelou, Frost. Any of those should hold up well as a gift.

  5. English Teacher , i would go with author Mitch Albom. Great author and his books are very interesting and different, heres my top 3.

The 5 People you meet in Heaven.

    One more day

    Tuesday with Morrie.

There is a lesson  of life in every book.

  6. Lonesome Dove, if she likes westerns

  7. Lady Chatterly's Lover ;)

  8. The Cradle Will Fall by MARY HIGGINS CLARK

  9. I think that she might enjoy any book by Jane Austen. Try Pride and Prejudice.

  10. "White Noise" by Don DeLillo
