Please recommend a hotel to stay in, in St. Lucia - near the beach preferably.?

What's Rodney Bay like, is that the touristy part with shops, restaurants? IS there a beach near there?

Rodney Bay is a man made lagoon, plenty of shops and restaurants.It is located on the Northern Coast of St Lucia.

Here is a link that describes this area better than I can. Also on this link is a list of resorts that are near by. Check out the resort reviews on tripadvisor.com. You don't say what your budget is so it's hard to recommend. There are some very expensive resorts on this island and some affordable resorts.

I love the rodney bay area, it has lots of hotels, restaurants and a few nightclubs, and the beach is right there. There also is a shopping complex and grocery near by. Two hotels I have stayed in and recommend are Bay gardens beach, beachfront, and tuxedo villas, affordable accommodations across from the beach. You can read my reviews on tripadvisor. You can also try ginger lily, coco kreole, bay gardens inn. The website below also lists other accommodations.
