  1. cheng deng

    near chen shoi

    peace

  2. Won Kee (serious) you have to go there. The food is the best. The service is not too great, but honestly the food is excellent. Not sure if that is the correct spelling though

  3. Eat at any of them. Your chance is 50-50.

  4. Wong Kei chinese restaurant --- Good food but infamous for their bad service.  Fair to them, I do not encounter any rude waiters there.  Food good and price reasonable.

If you can take the tube down to bayswater or queenstown station, where the mini chinatown is, 14-16 Queensway, there is a Mandarin Kitchen.  Call 0871 4260520 to book now.  Order the Lobster noodles.

I better stop. I am drooling now.

  5. The New World Restaurant is very reasonably priced and is always full of Chinese people..which is a good sign I guess.

Don't be fooled by Wong Ki's...the food is c**p and people just go there to be insulted by the waiters, seriously!

  6. i dont think there is one!!!....all over priced.....cheaper to fly to china!!!!....

  7. New Diamond is very good - try their fixed price menus for lots of choice.

  8. Waga Mamas (dont know if I spelt that right)

  9. try the london china town restorant

  10. Miss Kitty's Aroma was a nice meal. I'm serious about the name too. Nice place

  11. What do you mean by mid priced? Most of them are pretty cheap, not sure what the post about them being expensive came from? This is Soho london and the prices are way lower than most other restuarants in the area.

Best cheap place to eat would be Wong Kei's the food is great you don't get to choose your table though and will share with other people as the waiters see fit, but I've always found it to be a great place. Not a romatic meal eatery though. The New MayFlower is probably one of the best places to eat. depends on what time you want to eat though it isn't open during the afternoon as memory serves. But it is open till very late I've eaten there at 3 am before. It's been a while but as I remember it there Dim Sum was excellent. (New Mayflower - 68-70 Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho) is the address check the web for a phone number last couple of times I was there, there was a queue.

Oh yeah agree about Wong Kei's and the waiters being rude, it's all part of the exeriance :-) I wouldn't take someone there on a first date though if you were trying to impress.

  12. Yes go to China :) The food is much better there and there is a much wider choice. I have been very disappointed with the quality of Chinese Food in China Town. Sorry.

One  restaurant near my boyfriend's family in Stepney is very good. It  is called Sheng Li (this is putonghua pinyin , but I think the  name in the English alphabet is Cantonese  so it will be different -sorry !) Anyway it is between Whitechapel & Stepney Green tubes. Their secret is very fresh ingredients.  This and cooking with love is all you need to make tasty dishes.
