i really need some new straightening irons...i love the GHD ones, i've used them before they're really expensive and i'm on a tight budget...

could you recommend some straighteners that don't cost as much but work just as well?

please don't recommend the Nicky Clarke ones as i have one at the moment and i'm not impressed with it's quality...

thanks all

  1. Im using one now that was purchased at walmart and it works just fine. Can't think of the name though...but you don't need the chi to get the results you want. Unless you have different really thick  hair something.

  2. Babyliss.. they're quite good

  3. ConAir has some pretty good products.

They have a new straightner right on the home page. It's called the Ionic Steam Straightner.

    Good luck and happy straightening!

  4. :) Theres these BaByliss Pro 230 Elegance straighteners + theyre gold. Quite nice + they straighten really well too. My best friend has them + i use them some times when we go out or something if im at hers. I have GHDs tho, theyre really good but you said you have a bit of a budget so i think the BaByliss Pro 230 Elegances would be really good for you ! + theyre something like £30-£40 :) im really fussy with my hair it has to be perfectly dead straight (if i didnt have my GHDs now i would have these) (y) x

  5. BaByliss Pro 230 Straighteners  -Newer looking model to mine but i've had them 4 years now and i have to RESTRAIGHTEN my hair when i go for a cut/blow and straighten because mine do it better!!!! And they use GHD'S!!

  6. wet to straight is a really good inexpensive straightner. NEVER go past 30 on the dig. temp.

and never straighten it wet even though it's called wet-straight.

also a Chi, it ran for 80 dollars last year, but sally's beauty supply has the generics, which also work great!

  7. There are these new ones I saw on T.V., but you could probably look it up on line.  It is called the Keoseki Straightener.  They are supposed to be really good. I have heard that they don't pull on your hair.  I recommend them indefinitely

  8. i use conair

  9. Chi is the best of the best but if you're on a budget, the Bed Head straightener is perfect for you. It does all the things you want a straightener to do, straighten, make it soft, make it shiny. It's really long lasting too.

  10. My remingtons are of excellent quality, very well made, get very hot, it also has a thermostat control. Got as hot if not hotter than my sisters GHDs. Think they cost me £40, got a free heatproof mat with it, which was nice. Theyve got the usual ceramic plates and special coating. Recommended.

  11. bed hed and i like purology protection spray stuff

what kind of hair do you have??? bed head works for me...i think the quality depends on your hair

  12. I would reccommend FHI straighteners - they are very similar to GHD's and straighten (or curl) my hair very well. Dont know where you live but here in Britain the only place ive seen them is online... Theyre hald the price of GHD straighteners and more reliable... heres a link to their site (they have a number of different models)

http://www.fhiheat.com  ..btw the 'runway' model is extremely expensive but I got the red and black ones for £45 :) hope this helps x

  13. I have 3 pairs ... all of which are good quality

  16. I've got Morphy Richards ones - they were £45 and they are fantastic.  Better than GHD and they've been working perfectly for 3 years now - ceramic and everything.

  17. Braun :)

  18. i have a revlon one and i have used it pretty much everyday for the past year and it still works nicely

  19. Just get a nice curling iron and pull it through your hair, it does the exact same thing.

  20. GHDs, good quality for money, wont break as easily and its not one of those S***y brands that are cheap in the shops that mildly warm your hair

  21. I highly recommend the Andis 67095.

Got mine at a yard sale brand new for 5 bucks..figured couldn't hurt since I have tried soo many flat irons. This one is the best yet for my hair. And I have very thick curly hair..this iron is ceramic, can go to very high heat, and it has multiple heat choices...you can get it online for 25-30 dollars. Not bad for such good quality..trust me,I was tired of trying every flat iron I could find!

  22. I like the light me up Bedhead straightener.

  23. CHI is really nice, but expensive.

Go to a store like Sally's Beauty Supplies and they are all very good straighteners, and have a lot on clearence and sale.

  24. try the trevor sorbeiet ones, they are fab 29.99

  25. I had a Chi straightner, and I didn't like it.  I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Vidal Sassoon straightner with "floating plates" so it doesn't squeeze your hair per say.  I love love love it!  You should really try it.  It makes my hair very silky, and I've been bleaching/highlighting my hair for 6 years now.  It works very well.  It cost about $26.

  26. they have this gvp brand one, its like a generic brand at sally beauty supply i have it because i wanted the chi but they didnt have the chi, they said it was the next best one and i beleieve them it straightens my nappy curly frizzy poofy hair in less than 45 minutes and it gets HOT

  27. GHD's are the best you can get, they are quite expensive but are well worth it. some also curl aswell as straighten.

  28. CHI's are amazing but they're expensive.

so then a nice cheap one is Vidal Sassoon, and it works just as well and just as fast. it's about $15-$20

i hope this helps you out!

    good luck! ♥

  29. Ghd's are amazing.

  30. CHI.
