I own a legitimate 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable foundation called Angels in Waiting. I have been told by a number of marketing professionals and individuals that it is a fantastic website. However, I am getting minimal donations. Less than $200 within eight months. Please review my website, Any constructive criticism or feedback would be greatly appreciated. The website is: Http://AngelsinwaitingUSA.org

  1. The Home Page took an excessive (IMO) time to load, so long that if you had not asked for a review, I would have gone elsewhere.  However, I spent a long time on your site and this is my conclusion.

The script is long (I tried Sammy's story at random) and I would think people just lose interest, despite the fact that it is a very worthy project.  Shorten the script so that it is more direct.

Why not try just a couple of photos and their story.  You could say this is just a brief glance at the picture that lies behind the scenes.

You have produced a very pleasing site, but there is  no 'punch' there.  In the UK we would make a more direct site with more 'strength' . This would immediately give an insight into the plight of the kids concerned and appeal to people's pockets (their money).  We would state the facts with more emphasis.  Yours is a very kind and heartfelt site, but it lacks the punch that draws people's attention to the situation you are promoting.

I do not wish to sound the least unkind -  I do not know the US market, but are there many other sites with the same theme?  Perhaps people are becoming 'charity weary'.

As I keep saying, I do not wish to be the least bit unkind, but the fact that you are not receiving donations and that you are asking for a review, must tell you something.  Perhaps the answer is somewhere in the above.

I wish you well, and hope you succeed.

  2. First of all, beautiful site. It touched my heart. Now down to business. First of all, the site loaded fast for me, normal. Second, is there any music? Something warming and sad. Make people feel what you are feeling. Third and most important, You should have a tab at the top for success stories. So people can see where their money is going. Also have a guest book. That makes it more personal. I glanced at the site, do you have and verification that your organization is legit? Let it be known without people having to click tabs to find it. Also, maybe a letter and pic(something in that category), you recieve after you donate. Its sad, but people like to recieve praise after doing a good deed. Hope that helps and good luck! Oh, btw, how about something like United Way has (an object that gets colored in when you get to a financial goal for the month). Let that be on the homepage also!
