Hey. I'm 13, a girl and I'm going to highschool in 2 or 3 weeks. I'm kinda scared for it so can people share their stories of their first day in highschool?

also, what should I do to prepare for highschool?

Thank you for everyone who answers!

  1. it was fun. A little scary but fun. It will be a totally new experience and you will probably get lost, but just remember that there are hundreds of other kids in the same position that you are.

  2. My school was huge 3 stories high and a whole lot of people.

We had classes on every floor and I got so confused looking for all the rooms.  I finally asked another student who looked way older than me and she helped me figure it all out.  She ended up being the senior class president.

Lunch was weird too because we had 2 lunch rooms on 2 floors you could choose from.

I ended up meeting lots of new friends and having a great time.  By graduation I still didn't know half the people I graduated with and never had seen them before.

HOPEFULLY you have a much smaller school than mine.

It seems when you get to high school students are so much nicer than middle school.  I think people are more mature and let you be who you want to be.

    Good Luck

  3. lol i remember the first day

i was late to almost everyclass but it was fun cuz the first day they tell you the rules as if you already dont know right from wrong...i hate tht

oh. be prepared to get pranked ppl will tell u the wrong way lol its exciting nd fun tho meeting ppl is always fun =)

    good luck!!

  4. i never remember the first days of school

  5. I am going to be in sophmore year, and I went from a catholic school to a public school so I knew nobody.  Just remember to be yourself and try to make conversation with people. If you see someone who has been in more than one of your classes, be like "hey i noticed we have some classes together, what's your name!?" Also, try to find people on Myspace. It sounds bad but at least you will know who to expect to see at school.

I really don't remember my first day! Everything was a blur!

  6. at my highschool they made the freshmen go a day before the other grades went so we could get a feel for the school, so it wasn't bad at all. don't be nervous. and there's not much to prepare for, just a little more work than jr high. and also the teachers don't really make you do anything so be sure and make yourself work hard cause my grades fell the first semester.

  7. Punched a kid in the face because he annoyed the c**p out of me.

  8. well my first day was a bit of a mix up asking teachers we're this and that is knowing what bell is what.... blocks or periods.... and that whether its break! but just stay calm and don't exactly  rush everywhere teachers will understand that the first day can be harsh! but if anyone says something mean about freshman just throw aside people are trying to get a rise out you and your sophomore year should be better although i am one lol for a week now! everyones attention is on freshmen and i'll stop at the end of the year or people get bored with it toward you but you'll have fun in a way and you won't in others but you will not have any major tests like exit exams or any of that unless your in an advance school

  9. I was ridiculously nervous for high school when I first started, but now I've grown to love it even though I don't have much time left!!

Okay, so my first day: My locker was at the end of the hall and it was missing a side so I had to carry around my books for 3 weeks because the lazy good for nothing dean of students wouldn't fix it until finally one of my teachers went up and yelled at him

High school is awesome! Just be yourself and don't let people turn you into something you're not; you'll have a much better time if you stay true to yourself!

  10. my first day of high school was a precursor for the next four years. i sat beside this chick in one of my classes that day and she had on this ozzy shirt and her hair was bleach blond and she had crazy black eyeliner on. she looks at me and says "your sitting with me at lunch." i was like okaaay . i thought she was high or something. but at lunch she was the only familliar face i saw so i sat with her and she was my best friend for the next 4 years. also this boy i sat next to in my science class the first day wrote me a note asking me if i wanted to go out with him. i said no. but he was another best friend all through h.s. i still talk to him on myspace even though i moved out of state. i graduated in 01. dont prepare just roll with it. youll miss it when its over.

  11. I wouldn't really prepare all that much.  Everybody is just gonna be as nervous as you are.  Just don't be afraid to talk to people you have never met.  One word of advise would be to not isolate yourself, try to make as many friends as you can.

  12. I was beat with belts... haha good times... not!

Other then being hit with belts after school it really wasnt that bad you meet some interesting people... i think since you're a girl nothing bad will happen caused by the upper classmen... but if they tell you to do something do it cause if you don't they will be on your *** all year and its not pretty... but you shouldnt have anything to worry about... just think in four years you get to do to the freshmen as the seniors did to you... i'm a senior this year and me and the entire varsity football team have plans for the new freshmen nothing to drastic... it will be fun

  13. It was fun i sat with the football team during lunch and my friends during class

  14. got lost. tripped. ahah.
