Please show proof of why 1must wear hijab while reciting the Qur'aan, or should it be considered a good thing?

Actually, there is a very loose-fitting, two-piece outfit that my boyfriend's mother wears when she prays so that her whole body is covered. I don't know the arabic word for it, though. It is being modest before the eyes of God. She doesnt wear it every day, only when she prays.

We don't do this in Christianity, but long ago, Christians used to wear Hijabs too, but they probably had a different name.

There's nothing wrong with this, it's just a belief of practicing Muslims, like how some Christians take the sacrements EVERY time they go to church. Is that bad? No--as long as the person receiving prays for his sins first.

its not  siad in the Quran but its concidred good to wear it. no big deal really

You know, my family - my gran in particular used to say to me that the shaitan urinates on your head if you don't wear hijab while praying, or in general, or when reading Qur'an. I found out she was mis-informed!!

I used to wonder about it a few times!!

Now I realise that if hijab was mandatory 24/7 then what would be the point of marriage?

But I wouldn't say that to her.
