there are a certain amount of people at a meeting. @ the meeting there was 28 hand shakes exchanged how many people were at the meeting?

well did everyine shake hands once or did everyone shake hands once with everyone if everyone only shook hands once then there were 56 people, if everyone shooks hands once with everyone then i dont know

I think the answer is 8 by the way I understand your question. Each person shakes every other persons hand once. Each time all 8 people shake hands with a new person, so that is 4 handshakes each time. They must shake hands with 7 other people, and they obviously do not shake their own hand. 7x4 = 28
