25 - (z+5)^2

  1. When you have a^2 - b^2 the factors are (a + b)(a - b)

    in the case a = 5 and b = (z + 5) and the factors become

    (5 + (z + 5))(5 - (z + 5))

    This can become (10 + z)(-z) so the factors are (10 + z) and -z.


  2. I think you mean, Solve this using factorizing...

    anyaway,

    25-(z+5)^2

    Just expand the brackets, so that there is no squared anymore...

    25 - (z+5)  (z+5)

    now by multiplying out you get....

    25 - z^2 + 5z+5z+25

    Now adding together...

    25-z^2 + 10z + 25

    50 + z^2 + 10z

    I think thats how it should be....
