  1. I suggest writing the speech yourself.  But here is a good premise.  What is the alternative to NOT recycling?  Deforestation?  Growing Trash piles? poluted water supplies? Acid Rain?  Never ending Summer? Ever increasing Disease?  Radiation Posoining?

Do the research, see how these things are forseeable in your lifetime if our current rate of consumption is not met with the same level of recycling...

    Good Luck.

  2. Saves the environment is all you have to know. Embellish on that. Google for ideas. ie: disposable diapers, plastic rings and bottles, aluminum, newspaper, clothing, etc. THINK.. I charge for my speech writing. :)

  3. Firstly to persuade anyone to recycle anything it is important that they have the gravitas as to the worlds pollution status.

As you are most likely aware the global warming situation is indeed real, although as individuals the difference 1 person makes may seem insignificant its the cumulative effect of these individuals that makes a world of difference, land fill sites are getting scarce and the for example the oil based  plastics  we use every day such as juice bottles take years if not decades to deteriorate but there is still the residual oil content to be considered it remains,I'm sure at some stage you have tried to clear up a small oil spill in the home kitchen oil for example its almost impossible to rid it.

other products made of wood can either be chipped and reused but not burnt because of the climate effect it has so its better to allow someone else the opportunity to reuse the material to what ever ends they wish.

Metals (ferrous metals)will eventually become dust, brasses and coppers live forever.

Although at my age of 46 i dint think i will see the massive effect that recycling will have but my children and grandchildren will, after all we don't want to leave a legacy of filth and pollution for them to look back on us and say if only my ancestors were more considerate and not choked our planet...i don't know if i made much sense to you,i just guess im trying to appeal to your good nature and concern for future generations, our little effert might just make all the difference to them, and it doesnt take a great deal of our time.....regards AllanCMc
