The acceleration function a(t) (in m/s^2) and the initial velocity v(0) are given for a particle moving along a line.

a(t)=2t+4, 0<=t<=3 (where t is in between 0 and 3)

v(0)=-5

a) Find the velocity v(t) at time t. (Answer in m/s).

b) Find the total distance d traveled during the time interval given above.

(Answer in meters).

  1. v(t)=t^2 +4t - 5

    p(t) = (1/3)t^3 + 2t^2 -5t + C

    p(3) =12 meters

    p(0) =0 meters

    p(3) - p(0) = 12 - 0 = 12 meters

  2. let me give you a tip

    plug in the numbers into the variables and figure it out yourself =)
