Lotus Guesthouse at French Quarter, Anh Dao, Venus Hotel, Camellia Hotel, Classic Hotel, Classic Street Hotel, Hong Ngoc Hotel, Lucky Hotel, Prince Hotel, Queen Travel Hotel, Sunshine Hotel, Win Hotel, all at the Old Quarter. Spring Hotel, Thu Giang, Church Hotel, Dragon Hotel, all near Hoan Kiem Lake. All below $50 US a night!!!

We have stayed in several hotels in HaNoi over the last few years. The Golden Sun was nice, clean, reasonable and safe. http://www.goldensun-hotel.com/default.a...

It is right in the very touristie part of town, very close to Ho Hoan Kiem Lake.

Next month we are staying at the Van Mieu Hotel close to the Temple of Lititure.

We haven't found any unsafe places in HaNoi.  A very safe friendly place to visit.  Don't miss the A15 Bia Garden by Ho Giang Vo Lake.  Good food, nice scenery and great cheap bia.
