Question

We are planning to drive down from Bangalore to visit following places-<Trichy, Tanjore, Velankanni, Rameswaram, Madurai and return to Bangalore>.

Please suggest best and shortest route, we are planning 3 days for this. Is that sufficient?

Bangalore to Trichy is approx 320kms via hosur, krishnagiri,dharmapuri Salem, Namakal, Musiri and Trichy. Bangalore -Salem  travel should take 4 hrs by car and Salem -Trichy should take 3 hours.

Trichy is center of Tamil nadu geographically, however for this travel you may keep Tanjore as center point to visit these places.Trichy Tanjore travel is 1-1/2 hours Tanjore -Velakanni should be 3 hours.

From Trichy to Velankanni the route is via Tanjore , Nagapatinam and Velankani.

you may return back to Tanjore to start the next phase.

Next phase travel to Rameshwaram, start from Tanjore via Pudukottai ,Paramakudi and reach Rameshwaram.

Return from Rameshwaram to Bangalore would be via Trichy and same route as mentioned above.
