Please suggest cheap mobile phone and service (India and International/USA calling) for travel in India?

I will travel in India for 4 weeks but I will bring the phone with me for my next trip possibly in a year. I would like to use the phone all the way to the plane back to the USA.

You can use a GSM provider such as T-Mobile or ATT. Verizon and Sprint will be incompatible for this. If your currently have Sprint or Verizon you can request a loaner phone. Check the carriers' websites for details. :)

Try Virgin Mobile.

I've used their services before, and I think I had a plan that made me able to call whoever, whenever I wanted for a flat rate per month.

Although the Interface on the phones looks sub-par, the service is easy to use.
