Please suggest me camcorder models

Question

In answer to my last question about choosing a camcorder, "mpcsecondtimes" said but did not provide any models.

"...you may find a used professional camcorder or an older model that is still new on sale for under $1,000. All of the small format HD professional camcorders record to HDV"

My requirements are High Defn support, MiniDV format, budget around $1000-1200.

Can someone please suggest me models on both categories:

1) New non-professional

2) Used professional

With these requirements ?

Consumer:

Canon HV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7, HDR-HC9

The cheapest "pro" hidef format camcorder - of which I am aware - is the Sony HVR-A1U. I don't even think used ones are around $1,000.

The next price jump goes to the HDR-FX1, HDR-FX7 (these are actually "Prosumer" cams), but their pro counterparts are the HVR-Z1U and HVR-Z1U, respectively... Then there's the Sony HVR1000U, which is kind of in a class by itself (I'd take the A1U over it in a minute).

Then jump, again to Canon XHA1 and then the Panasonic HDX200 series...
