Please sum up the Russia/Georgia situation for me!?

Some things have recently taken place in my life that kept me away from the news. Can someone (who isn't an @sshole) sum up what has recently taken place from beginning to end in Russia? Thanks

America  looking  for  the  perfect  world  AGAIN!  Israeal has  made  a  new  'friend'  AGAIN.  The  UN  approve  of  Iraq  invasion  by  US  and  allies  but  not  when  the  Soviets  do  the  same in  Georgia.

It has begun some hundred years ago.

In short, there is a region on a territory of Georgia, called South Ossetia, and most of people who live there want to be independent from Georgia. In fact, they has been independent since USSR collapsed. There was a war between Georgia and Ossetia in 90s, and Georgia lost it. Now Georgia tried to take that region back again, but they lost again.

Russian peacemakers has been there since the first war. And Georgia began it's attack with killing Ossetian civilians (a lot of them has Russian citizenship) and Russian peacemakers. So Russia must defend its people, because 1) Georgians killed Russians, 2) there are international agreements that Russian forces should prevent a war between Ossetia and Georgia.

Of course, there is much more - NATO, oil, etc. But politic games don't justify killing hundreds of people.

Measure for Measure. Uncle Sam carved Kosovo out of Serbia. In return, Russian Bear beat up Uncle Sam's little puppy Georgia.
