On the front page, I want to eliminate the run-together "jasperaddletonspgwodehousepage" and just have the "Sir Jasper Addleton's P.G. Wodehouse Page" show, but I can't figure out how to eliminate it. I did something during setup and can't figure out how to fix it. Thanks!

  1. Sorry; the run-together bit is your web addy and I've never been able to find a way to get rid of it. You can go into Management/Description and Appearance and edit just about everything else; you could see if it lets you edit the web addy to something shorter if that helps!

  2. DC is on the right track.  That whole run-together is your Yahoo Group's name (which doubles as the last part of your web address), and a Group name can't have any spaces in it.  Though you can change the name to something shorter if you want; just remember that there can't be any spaces in whatever you change it to.  Oh yeah - some people use underscore characters ( _ ) in the name of their Group where spaces would otherwise go.

Anyway, if you want to change your Group's name, then log in to your Group.  Then click on Management on the left-hand side of the page.  Then click on Description & Appearance under Group Settings (towards the upper-right-hand corner).  Then click the Edit link next to Web Address.  Then edit the name in the Group Address box.  If you have other members in the Group besides yourself, it would be a good idea to also check the box near the bottom-middle to Notify Members Of Group Address Change.  Don't forget to click the Save Changes button when you're done.
