  1. There was a theory from a TV show called Sightings which said that there use to be a planet in our solar system called, get this, Vulcan.

  2. well actually there r only 8 planets

  3. There are only eight.

In the alst couple of years, Pluto has been "downgrade", and is no longer a planet.

There ae a couple of OTHER object beyond Pluto that have been identified, but they are also not considered planets.

Plute, and the others, are now just big asteroids.

  4. Sedna, or 2003 VB12, as it was originally designated, is the most distant object yet found orbiting our Sun. It is three times further away than Pluto (average distance to the Sun is 5.9 billion km or 3.6 billion miles).

It was discovered using the Mt Palomar facility in November by astronomers from the California Institute of Technology, Yale Observatory and the Gemini Observatory

  5. It has not been named yet but it's temporary name is 2003 UB313

  6. The planet, which hasn't been officially named yet, was found by Brown and colleagues using the Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory near San Diego. It is currently about 97 times farther from the sun than Earth, or 97 Astronomical Units (AU). For comparison, Pluto is 40 AU from the sun.

The planet's temporary name is 2003 UB313. A permanent name has been proposed by the discoverers to the International Astronomical Union, and they are awaiting the decision of this body before announcing the name.

  7. There is no tenth planet in our solar system. There would have been nine, but unfortunately Pluto is now counting as a dwarf planet rather than a planet itself. If however you consider dwarf planets as actual planets, the tenth planet would be something called 'MakeMake', which resides in the Kuiper Belt and is the third-largest dwarf planet to date.
