Its a long time back that I visited Kathmandu via Sunauli, the fare was around 150 NR. I think now it will be nothing less than NR 200.

There is no need to book an advance ticket. As soon as you enter Sunauli, bus operators will be seen crying for passangers.

In Makalu Yatayat, it costs Rs 290 from Kathmandu to Birganj.

It is advisable to book ticket a day in advance.

Minimum NPR 350 Sunauli to Kathmandu, Then 375 NPR to Kathmandu to Birgunj. When you travel your measurement will not work exactly you as planned, You will have to keep extra money with you.

There are other companies too. "Makalu Yatayat" is the most expensive bus.

So, expect a little less in other bus/carrier.

Not necessary to book in advance but advisable if you are traveling with Makalu.
