My question had nothing to do about black and white people, that was just the title.

Yet everyone took it upon themselves to think I am racist and state it that way.

Please tell me, why are most people here so stupid that they cannot wipe their own...

Well you get the point

For gods sake, can someone actually answer the question??

Sorry, I am just tired and frustrated.

  1. People respond in this manner all of the time.  They are more bold about it on the internet, and people who you wouldn't normally associate with (because they're jerks, because they overreact) have full access to you here.

"Reverse" racism or sexism or any other -ism is commonly accepted.  There are a few reasons:

    1.  Minorities or disadvantaged groups have a history of being hit with these jokes.  These jokes have had an actual negative impact on their community.  At this point, making another joke about that group is like kicking them when they're down.

    2.  Majority groups or advantaged groups are not regularly hit with jokes, and these jokes haven't had a negative impact on their community.

    3.  Even if these jokes against the majority/advantaged groups had a minor negative effect, it wouldn't be visible.  The minority/disadvantaged group being held down and not advancing is easy to track.  The majority/advantaged group being brought to an even level is what is supposed to happen.

    4.  Turnabout is fair play.  We shouldn't hold children responsible for the actions of their parents or grandparents or great grandparents, but when dealing with large groups of people, the fact is ignored that the individuals who did the discriminating are not the ones receiving the "reverse" discrimination.

As for the rest of your questions, the reality is that racism/sexism/many other isms are alive and well today.  Some blacks get longer prison sentences for the same crimes because the judges, lawyers, or juries are still racist.

However, there's also truth to the idea that disadvantage groups often live in poorer conditions, and the poor *in general* are more likely to commit crimes, period, so it would make sense for any group that is predominantly poor to get more convictions that another group.

Additionally, differences in the way we perceive other people come from our personal experience.  We each think, act, and react in our ways.  First impressions make a difference with whether or not you generally feel "positively" about someone, so forgive them when they miss the next appointment, or "negatively" about someone, so get mad when they miss it.  It spirals from here.

Throughout your entire ramble, I couldn't detect one overall central question, though it looks like you have one that you are trying to communicate.

  2. you are not a racist and i took the time to answer your question.

peoples prejudices get in the way...sad but true.

time for you to sleep and settle your frustrations my friend.

tomorrow is another day for you to be happy and joyous.

  3. People just got so heated by your attention grabber they didn't care to read the rest.

But to answer your other post....

Majority and minority... look at it this way. When the big guy kicks the little guy its not so cool. When the little guy kicks the big guy its funny because it doesn't really do any damage. That's how I interpret the whole black/white joke thing.

I'm not going to answer about the whole black people getting more jail time thing because its pretty similar or otherwise just depends on how racist the judge is.

As far as the last one goes.. its just how people see those types of people. When you're a jack of all trades you don't stand out as much as an Ace of something. I think those were the two comparissons you had but correct me if I'm wrong.

  4. To put it simply, white man have always tried to dominate the world and persecute anyone that's different, possibly out of fear. It is true that blacks get harsher sentences than whites, especially when interracial issues arise. They don't necessarily get more sentences, just harsher. Take a black that has murdered a white, he will probably get life or death row, but think of a white murdering a black, he will get 10 years maybe, and will be out on parole sooner. The difference is in the harshness of the sentences. That's just the way it is. Humans are scared of anything different, and black skin is different, therefore they are scary. Its ridiculous once you think about it.

On a smaller scale, think about people in college. You hear that someone is in biology or chemical engineering and you automatically think that they are super smart, especially compared to people who are in sociology for example. I get that all the time, when I tell them I'm in sociology I can see them thinking, "oh well she must not have been smart enough for the sciences or maths" ... when in fact i left high school with a 91% average, taking chemistry, physics, calculus, and much more. I just wasn't interested in those subjects.

People develop stereotypes and they are nearly impossible to break.

I also like the analogy of the dumb blonde ... i too am blonde, but I'm not stupid or ditzy. That's my 411.

  5. yes, i totally agree with you, 'ive always wondered that myself.
