I have read up on lunar phase and I get what it is but on mymonthlycycles.com and other sites it ask me how long my lunar phase is...10 days to 18 days and I'm not sure how you figure that out. I get that they seem to think it's a second time your fertile but i'm not sure how to tell how long mine is so here are my last period dates, can you please tell me how long this phase is for me

april 30th

may 29th

june 25th

july 20th

aug. 14th

I am guessing that I am on a 26 day menstrual cycle. And if you have any more info on what a lunar phase is, can you please tell me. Thank You for taking the time to read this.

  1. Lunar phases are the moon phases. I think you are talking about luteal phase. There are 2 phases of the menstrual cycle, the follicular phase--from the first day of your period til the day you ovulate. And then there's the luteal phase, or LP, which is from ovulation til the last day of your cycle. The follicular phase of your cycle can vary from cycle to cycle but your LP will never vary more than a day. The average LP is 14 days, but anywhere from 10-18 is normal. Any less than 10 is called a luteal phase defect. If your LP goes longer than 18 days then you are likely pregnant.

To determine how long YOUR LP is you need to pinpoint ovulation. You can do this by charting your BBT, Basal Body Temps, for a few cycles.

EDIT:   By the way, I LOVE your pic, he/she's adorable!
