Please tell me if i can have a service history for my second hand car now?

the previous owner did not give the service history record, for my car.

  1. Ring a dealer for your car's make: They may have a service record they can produce.


  2. Yes, you can ask a dealer for that make. If it was serviced in the dealer network they may, if you ask nicely, give you a print-out of the records on computer

Like the other posters said you can access previous dealership service history by providing the dealership with the VIN of your car.  They will usually print you off a copy free of charge.  However, it is important to note that these service histories are often incomplete as more expensive procedures such as tranny flushes and even spark plug replacements are often handled outside of the dealership.  One thing that dealership service histories do show however is if the car has had repeated warranty claims made on it.
