I mostly play the PC versions because I can't stand other people! I have met people who play it and have even seen some people doing it at uni! So you're not alone, maybe just isolated from others that do like it...

I used to play in the 80s when it first came out, fond memories lots of memories.. Thanks for reminding me of days gone by........

Ok. I admit it.

My hand picked custom set of dice, consisting of the 'best' and luckiest dice from various sets, in a hand sewn bag  of expensive black velvet lined with red satin have a coveted place on the shelf where I keep all the coveted junk I've collected over the years.

Sadly, they don't get much use these days.

Time is the enemy of all great hobbies in the 21st century. I had to stop when I got a real job. Then when 3rd edition came out a group co-workers and I had what we called 'Poker Night' so we could play without seeming like dorks to the LAN party geeks in the IT department where we worked. But it was not to last very long.

These days my favorite kleptomaniac hafling has been displaced by a beautiful four year old girl who likes to torture the cat by playing dress-up. Still, its not all bad. The sight of a cat in a Tinkerbell dress streaking down the hallway can be fairly entertaining. But its not the same.

I'm hoping she might take up the call when she learns to read a little better. She likes to play with my spare dice sometimes (Nobody! Not even she can touch my main dice. Ever!)

I still play. In fact, my group of like-minded geeks are getting together tomorrow to do our first real 4th edition campaign.  It will be my first experience DM-ing :) So I am excited.

just got back from breaking in new characters using 4.0 for the first time yesterday.  Its a lot easier than the last version and playing a dragonborn reminds me of my days of Rifts.  Its just getting harder to find groups to game with if you didn't already have one because with everything going online a lot of the gaming stores are closing down.
