I am 11 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. The pregnancy with my first 2 boys was good. With my second, I had morning sickness for maybe a week and vomited 2 or 3 times but that was it. With this pregnancy, I have been sick since I was 7 weeks. My doc first prescribed me phenegren (spelling?) and it did absolutely nothing. Matter of fact, it seemed to make it worse. Then my doc prescribed me Zofran which took the edge off but I still can't seem to feel good enough to eat a full meal. I go through my day eating 2 or 3 small snacks. I have tried crackers, ginger ale, ginger snaps, lemon tea etc. Is there anything at all that anyone can recommend that may work that I haven't tried already? How much longer will this go on?

  1. i have found peanut butter toast first thing in the morning works.. for some strange reason and if i dont have it i am sick through out the day. some days i eat it at lunch too.

  2. I know alot of people think 12 weeks is the "magic week" that morning sickness ends.

For me, it was closer to 13 weeks but still in the 12 week range.

So you might be almost finished but i've heard some women... not to scare you... have morning sickness for alot longer or even throughout their pregnancies.

Have you tried those candy things they have at places like Motherhood Maternity or maternity stores that are supposed to help morning sickness? I didn't get a chance to because I found out about them after my sickness was over but I thought it was interesting.

    Good luck to you!

  3. ok doctor here,

    metoclopromide,(can come as a syrup)

stemetil,( can come as melt in the mouth tablets)

cyclzine (these come as suppositries too)

Hope this helps! A doctor can prescribe these and they are safe in pregnancy, as soon as you have taken the medicine, sit for half hour then eat, and only drink a half hour after eating, this should also reduce your sickness! Good luck hun!

  4. LoL i fouynd that honstly mine is caused by low blood sugar and eating some fruit or something like that and then some protien to keep up my bloodsugars the rest of the day. I do know how you feel but try something to bring up the blood sugar alittle and see if that helps

  5. every pregnancy is different and i bet your are having a girl!!!  I know morning sickness is horrible I had all throughout the day just like you and there was nothing that made me better except sprite, 7up, and saltine crakers...so im sorry and good luck

  6. I hope the end is near for you!  I had morning sickness up until I was around 24 weeks and it was horrible.  Get lots of rest and make sure to drink lots of fluids and stay fully hydrated.  I am hoping for the best for you.

    p.s.

morning sickness has nothing to do with the s*x of the baby, like the person implied above, I was extremely sick throughout my first 24 weeks and am having a boy.  My friend wasn't sick at all and she had a boy as well.
