Please tell me what's wrong with my kitty!?

Question

Before i took him to the vet for his 1st check up, he use to be so happy, he almost acted like a dog. He would be running everywhere at any moment and when we would get home, especially me from school, he would be waiting for me at the door, making cute sounds like a meow mixed with a purr. But now, all he does is sleep and he gets really cranky.

Even got a high fever from the vaccines, and then he sprained his foot and got a fever again but he's doing better in health.

i want my "before vet visit" kitty back, the happy one.

my  cat, got her shots the same day we got her (we rescued her from the vets office, where they hold stray cats for adoption) and she was pretty cranky, and would hiss and moan alot. My cat gets extremely happy when I brush her with her brush! What I do is brush her in the direction of hair growth (front to back) which feels amazing to her, she purrs and cuddles with me! Another thing that perks my cat up is a small lazer. She likes to chase the little light around! So we don't give her like so many shots that she probably won't need, we only give her a rabies shot, oh and when she get's a shot we buy her a special treat like a toy or some tuna or feed her a tiny peice of balogna which she strangely loves!

I'm sorry to say there are many, many cats who have bad reactions to vaccinations. I think the answer may be to minimize vaccinations that we expose of cats to and keep them indoors.

If it has been awhile try purchasing a Feliway Diffuser for him. It looks like a plug in air freshener and releases cat pheromones which make them happy. It has not scent or effect on humans/dogs.

You don't mention how long ago he got the shots or how old he is.  My kitten reacted badly to shots too and he was sick and out of it for about a week.  He got better and back to normal after that.

My cat get's like this, They're prone to mood swings like we are, I'm sure of it, My cat falls out with me after a visit to the vet and a few jabs later lol!

They snap out of it soon enough, Make sure you got plenty of treats, My cat loves cold meat, I always make sure I have some to cheer her up.
