  1. Aweeeesome, NO! Come to Rome instead!

  2. I'm sure they have a visitors center in their city , but if I was visiting, I'd  find The Dali museum.

  3. sightseeing stuff:

    must see:

    -Sagrada familia

    - Las ramblas from top to bottom. Don't miss la Boqueria (main market in bcn).

    - Passeig de Gràcia (including some modernist buildings in it you can get in such as La Pedrera)

    - The Cathedral

    - Santa María del Mar and the Old quartier next to las Ramblas and Via Laietana

    - Parc Güell (it's a little bit difficult to reach bc its on the top of a hill and it's bad communicated but it's worthy going there).

    - Monastir de Pedralbes: Really nice monastery in Sarrià quartier. It's really nice because when you are inside it doesn't seem you're in a big city like bcn.

    if you like museums:

    -Picaso

    -MNAC

    -Fundació Miró

    if you like soccer:

    - FC Barcelona stadium and museum

    other things:

    The olympic stadium and St Jordi Dome in the hill of Montjuic. From the top there is a nice view of the port of Barcelona.

    Magic fountains in montjuic, near plaça espanya. A show of sound and light.

    Tower of Collserola: A telecomunication tower on the top of a hill of Collserola from which you can have nice views. You can get on top of the tower but maybe it's not worthy to pay the fee. you will have nice views from the bottom too.

    for shopping: Next to Plaça Catalunya (the city center) there is a commercial area. Boutiques along Passeig de Gràcia. Also shopping area in Diagonal Avenue in metro station of Maria Cristina.

    Places to go out: For tourists there are some places next to las Ramblas. Check Jamboree. Also in Maremagnum, a leisure center in the port. In Port Vell you will find places to eat seafood and some pubs. There are also clubs in this area: Shoko for example. You will find another big bunch of pubs and clubs in the streets of Santaló, Amigó (Quite close to plaça Francesc Macia). Check clubs like sutton or Otto Zutz.

    Other recommendations: you can buy 10 trip transport cards for about 7,5 euros. Each trip allows you to take as many sorts of transport as you might need to reach your destination in 1h 15 min.

    There are also touristic busses. You can buy a ticket for the whole day and you can get in and get off as many times as you want. You'll pay more than if going by yourself but you'll save time. You get explanations of the things you're seeing. Personally I don't like this kind of busses.

    You can try good tapas in one of the many Tapas Bars in Passeig de Gràcia.

    For good orchata try Planelles Donat in Carrer Portal de l'Angel, one of the streets starting in Plaza Catalunya. You will find this place going down on the right hand, before arriving to El Corte Ingles.

    that's pretty much it

  4. go to the beach!

  5. You need to visit the museums and art galleries along with going to a music thing.

  6. Javi and Barcelonaman have given you all the obvious and a couple of lesser known ideas!

    Make sure, if you want to go to the Palau Musica, to check the schedule in advance...they sometimes close for private presentations, etc.

    For something fewer people go to, go to the Museu Xocolat...very interesting (with possibly the yummiest shop at the end).

    Make sure to eat tons of seafood!  Best and freshest available anywhere!  (make sure you ask if paella is casera...otherwise you're likely to get precooked, boxed stuff...not as good!)  Also, the best chocolate, and really good ice cream (especially along the Ramblas).  Stop for churros and chocolate at the Café de la Opera (across the Ramblas from the Opera).

  7. shop shop and more shopping

  8. breathe, eat, sleep, spend money

  11. There are thousands of things you can do in Barcelona and by conducting a SEARCH using keyword "BARCELONA" you'll surely find an equal number of "Answers" on the same topic.

    Also, be sure to get yourself the very very deep "Lonely Planet Guide to Barcelona". It's indispensable.

    Short List:

    * Take the hop-on-hop-off tourist bus

    * Go to Montjuic

    * Go to Parc Guell

    * Tour the Sagrada Familia

    * Go to Parc de la Ciutadella

    * Walk around the Barceloneta, Gothic Quarter, El Raval, Eixample

    * Go to any of the dozens of museums

    * Go to the Mercat de la Boqueria along Las Ramblas

    The above are just the highest of the highlights. Have a great time in wonderful Barcelona! Hope you're not going in summertime when it's HOT & HUMID.
