I am taking my family to Dublin for 4 days. Staying in the city centre. What is there to do? The kids are 5 & 7. Any SENSIBLE suggestions would be most appreciated. Thankyou.

  1. They have the Dublin Zoo in Phoenix park.  Very nice and they would love that.  Close to that is a play ground.  It's just to the south of the Zoo in the park in a little valley, kinda close to the Infirmary Rd Gate.

They also have a couple of free museums.  Natural History Museum and the Natural Museum of Ireland.

Kilmainham gaol, that is kinda interesting.  It's the main jail in Ireland, no longer in use.

If you want to do any day trips out of town try over the top tours.  They are great.

There is so much that can be done.  Have fun!

  2. The Dublin Zoo, Viking Splash Tours is a MUST for kids!!! Dublinia (please-touch museum), Depending on where you are going, there are lots of events that are especially for kids. You kind find them at the link below.  There are also the Ashtown Riding stables @ Phoenix Park. If you have a boy, go to the Fry Model Railway. If you have a girl, you MUST go to Tara's Palace. It has a giant Dollhouse. There is the Lambert Puppet Theatre, in Bray there is the National Sea Life Centre.  There is A LOT more to Dublin for kids than you think. Carpe Diem!
