Please tell me whether this Payment proof are Fake.

I asked because i receive the proof from my consumer at 30th Aug.But the Proof said the payment sent at 1th Sep!!!

I ask consumer:

Dear Lisa

I saw the Payment was sent at 01/09/08 But today is 30/08/08Could you explain this?Thank you!

She reply me:

Hi

Because I arranged it on a Saturday the money is taken from my account but they will not actually send it till Monday.

They do not class Saturday as a working day so donot process anything till Monday

If you received on Saturday 30/08/08 it cannot be proof of payment if it says sent on Sunday 01/09/08

It can only be an advisory note, advising that payment will be sent on Monday 01/09/08

Deposits made from close of business Friday 29/08/08 or close of business Saturday 30/08/08 will not show on your statement until Monday 01/09/08

Deposits made up to close of business on Monday 01/09/08 will not show on your statement until Tuesday 02/09/08.

This depends on the bank you are with, some will show only show when funds have cleared.

In this case do not spend that money until it clears for any reason, If you do and the funds are not deposited into your account you will still have to repay the bank.

Some banks will show deposits on statements before clearing, Those made before close of business will show on the following day.

You say this is the fist transaction, I assume you are using Electric  Money Transfer.  You could contact her and ask how long she was told it would take to clear then ask your bank how long after it would be available to you.

She may be saying it is a copy of the instructions she has given the bank and how much and who to send it to, I would give it a couple of days, don't panic and don't spend it until cleared. If this is payment for goods do not send them until funds have cleared, confirm with bank that those funds have cleared.

Check out 419 Advanced Fee Fraud..

DO NOT send any money back .. .. the 'cheque' / transfer will 'bounce' (be Reversed) EVEN AFTER IT CLEARS .. sometimes it gets Reversed MONTHS later .. but any payment you send (via Western Union / MoneyGram) can NOT be reversed  .. and you will end up in debt ..

yup, its fine, the banks take a day to process stuff. Thats normal.

The lady is right, the payment wouldn't be sent till the 1st because of the weekend. So though it left her bank on the saturday any proof will say it will leave on the 1st rather then the day it was actually arranged. The money will take a few days to get from her account to your account though. Should be there wednesday/thursday.
