I can't believe she thinks it might be harmful to only eat fruits and veggies!!!

  1. It is not harmful to eat a plant based diet but only fruits and veggies?  That's not enough.  Beans are not vegetables..they are legumes.  A plant based diet would include whole grains, nuts, veggies, fruit and legumes.


  2. A vegetarian diet can be healthy for some and unhealthy for others. I am a vegetarian and it is healthy for me but in some cases people need to eat some meat or it just makes more sense to eat some meat because other foods are getting really expensive.

    Really though the best diet for everyone including the planet would be a hunter/gatherer diet in which we do our best to hunt and gather food and maybe grow small sustainable gardens with mostly native to the area vegetables!

  4. It depends on your body.  For some people, a vegetarian or vegan diet IS harmful.  Other people may do just fine.

    There is also some evidence that points to vegetarianism leading to faster aging.

    Until a vegetarian realizes that vegetarianism is not about health or animal rights but deeper issues in their psyche, they will never be completely healthy.

  6. I don't think she meant would it be healthy to only eat fruits & vegies. I think she was more worried that she would lack vitamins needed to live if she just ate fruits and vegies. And I'm sorry but the answer  is yes, you were right in your answer when you made mention of eating beans and things for protein, however this girl is on her way to having an eating disorder. Becoming a vegetarian is a good way to loose weight, however she has no idea about dietary necessities and thinks she can pop pills instead of consuming foods with calcium in it. You don't have to eat animal products but many vegetarians get into heath trouble because they don't research what foods they need to eat to replace protein, calcium, and other such essential nourishment. Saying it is not harmfull to ONLY eat fruits and vegetables is ignorant. Sorry.
