Question:

Please translate the Canadian add on "eh" into Chinese Characters?

We are designing t shirts and we want to put "Ni Hao 'eh?!" in English and in Chinese Symbols on the t shirts. I have the translation for Ni Hao but not for "eh" and I would appreciate it, if you could either point me to a web site where I can get it from or write it out for me, hopefully scan it and email it to me! We are Families with Children from China in Canada and the t shirts are for our kids and we want to combine their Chinese heritage with our Canadian heritage.

I would need this as soon as possible.

Thanks for your help.

  1. There really is no translation for that.

If you want to use it with 'ni hao', I suggest 啊. It's the closest you can get. However, it is NOT a translation for 'eh' so don't go around combining it with other words or it might turn out really funny.

  2. What?  I'm Chinese and I don't even know what this "eh" character is.

Do you mean Ni Hao Ma? (你好嗎?)

Ma is an indication of question in Chinese, when you see Ma at the end of the sentence it indicates it is a question.  Kinda like the "ya" in Spanish.

Usually people say Ni Hao Ma.  I've never heard of Ni Hao Eh.
