  2. Well, it's kinda hard to translate those terms into Tagalog (now I know why mathematics is taught in English)... but I know in TAGALOG, it's "Sipnayan" (thank you for the correction, BTW), while in FILIPINO, it's "Matematika"

  3. Matematika

    Polynomilya

    Prdukto

    Pag-papaktor

    Mga paktor

    Koepisyent

    Set

    Pag-mumultiplay

  4. mathematics: matematika (Spanish, matematica); sipnayan (coined, isip)

polynomials: polinomiyal (Spanish, polinomial); damikay (coined)

product: bunga; sagot; produkto (Spanish, producto)

factoring: pagpaktor (Spanish); faktoring (Filipino); pagbungkag (coined)

factors: paktor (Spanish); faktor (Filipino); kabuo (coined)

    coefficient: katuwang; koepisyensiya (Spanish, coeficiencia)

    set: tangkas; grupo; kabuuan

    multiplication: multiplikasyon (Spanish, multiplicacion); palaramihan

  5. mathematics - sipnayan

product - bunga; ani; yari; produkto

set - isang huwego; isang kumpol

    multiplication - pagpaparami

    Sorry...it's not complete...

  6. haha good luck with that. but seriously i don't think you can translate those terms into tagalog...no equivalent words.

  7. oh please. the rule of thumb in modern English-Filipino translation is that strictly-academic terms don't need to be translated if it's used for academic purposes. i would never let my kids enroll in a math class that further complicates itself by vernacular translations.

heck, i guess no one here will figure out what "set" is in Tagalog that's also one syllable...  you end up with double the number of syllables with "factoring" and "factors"... and i doubt there's a Tagalog word for coefficient unless you do "baybay-bigkas" and spell it out "koepisyent".

  8. Sirit.  (I give up)

    Hurrayyy   for Vainglor!

And to all the rest who bravely answered!   May they ride in glory into the halls of Bathala!

As for me,  I am already lost in Math using the technical English language.   No need to confound me more in Tagalog.
