I am refuting a Qadiani/Ahmadiyah person whose leader is Ghulam Mirza, who claimed he was a Prophet after the last Prophet Muhammad, pbuh. Ghulam Mirza is well known for purposely misinterpreting words of the Quran so that people will think he is the Messiah.

This person has lost to me 2 Arabic words which Mirza Ghulam Ahmad has purposely misinterpret in the Quran, that is Rafa' which is ascend, but he translated it to Rifa' exalted. Another word is Khalat, which means passed/gone by, but Mirza Ghulam has translated to death.

  1. May Allah have mercy. It's easy to say someone "lost" when you refuse to read what the actual Ayat says and refuse to accept that "passed away" means died. Any arab will tell you that khalat in that instance will mean death.

    May Allah have mercy indeed.

Our belief is the same as the Prophets (sa)

This is a belief held by Tajal ‘Urus, Al-Qamus, Surah, Asas al-Balaghah, Al-Sihah, Sarah, and Kullyat abil Baqa. Whenever a Sahaba, a Khalifa, or Prophet Muhammad (saw) passed away, tawwaffi was used to denote death.

Checking every page of Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Nisa’i, Darimi, Muwatta, and Sharh-us-Sunnah, tawwaffi has been used 346 TIMES and NOT ONCE has the Holy Prophet (saw), a Sahaba, or another human used the word tawwaffi to mean ANYTHING OTHER THAN DEATH. (Mishqat)

Orthodox Muslims translate “muttawafeeka” as “take me up” instead of “cause me to die.”

Commenting on this verse, Ali bin Talhah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (ra), cousin of the Holy Prophet (saw), stated, “The meaning of Tawwaffi is death (Qaala Ibno Abbasin Muttawafeeka Mumeetoka).” (Sahih Jami’ Bukhari, Tafsir Surah Al-Maidah) (Tafsir Ma’alim, p. 162)

Hazrat Ayesha (ra) relates that, “The Holy Prophet (saw) died (tawaaf) and was buried in her room.” (Sahih Jami’ Bukhari)

What more proof does one need that it means death???  It is so clear that the Prophet (sa) understood mautawafee as death.  Why do you wish to twist the meaning of the Qur'an sister?

love for all, hatred for none

  2. This question was just re-posted. I answered it in detail earlier, but the crux is that the Qur'an itself uses tawaffa to mean die, and "inni mutawaffika" means I will cause you to die. Read Sahih Bukhari and again you'll find over 300 instances of the word tawaffa being used, and each time it's used to mean death. If Allah (swt) and His Rasul (saw) meant it as death, why do you disagree?

Again, what is this "khalat" you keep referring to?

Rafa'a means exalt in status here, as the context of the verse is in reply to the Jews who asserted Isa (as) died an accursed death and his status was of evil people (na'uzubillah). When we pray "wa rafa'anee" in du'a byna sajadaan, we do not mean "and physically raise us up", or else why has no one ever been raised up. Also, where is Allah?  Allah (swt) is everywhere.  And the verse doesn't say "to heaven" but Illaya, meaning "to Me", which can only mean "to a blessed status".

(Dear Questioner, please ponder rather than re-post once your question it has been answered.  It's not honorable to delete good answers and repost questions, but perhaps you deleted by accident. Barakallahu feek.)

  3. Causing you and raising you said Jesus, I am causing you to the sacred and the raising of disinfectants ٱلذين ڪفروا and making ٱلذين ٱتبعوك over ٱلذين disbelieve until the Day of ٱلقيمه then to مرجعڪم فاحڪم with you when you disagree (55)
