  1. Molasses comes from sugar cane which is processed/heated and reduced to it's thick, sweet, delicious form...my grandparents, who lived in Lyons, Georgia,  made molasses and it was kept as we keep butter or margarine nowdays. It is hard to find "good"molasses these days because it just isn't processed over open heat like it was back in the '50's. I try to find the "homemade" at the ole' country stores we have here.....so far so good...If you are interested in buying some, go on line and you should find a vendor....Oh, it is the same consistency as syrup, but to me, the taste is much better...Put a spoonful on a hot buttered busicuit......YUMMMYY!!!!!!!

PS. Go to GOOGLE and look up MOLASSES.... It will tell you all you need to know ...BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES is awesome but a little stronger in flavor/taste than regular.... I like them both.....

  2. Mollases Is A Brown Syrup. Its From Sugar. Its Apparntly High In Iron Which Is Good If You Dont Eat Red Meat :)

  4. treacle

  5. Molasses is a thick brown syrup that is separated from raw sugar during the refinement process - in simpler terms, when sugar is refined, the juice squeezed from the plants is boiled until it becomes a syrupy mixture -molasses is the remaining brownish liquid.

  6. Is a by-product of sugar refining. It has the consistency of honey and it's very dark in colour, almost black.
