  1. A cyclone is tornado which forms on the sea, not land. TORNADOS are formed on land.

Tsunamis are giant waves caused by earthquakes in the seabed.

  2. Yes, though technically a cyclone is ANY rotating low pressure area, such as a tornado, hurricane, typhoon (same thing as a hurricane), etc.  Over the northern Indian Ocean the type of storm we refer to as a hurricane is called a Cyclone (note the capitalization)

A tsunami is an oceanic or sea wave that is generated by some sort of sea floor displacement resulting from an earthquake.

  3. cyclone - bascially a tornado

    tsunami - GIANT wave

  4. A cyclone is an area of low pressure and a tsunami is an extremely large wave caused by an earthquake.

  5. A cyclone can be a few things.  Most of the time when you hear about a cyclone it's basically another name for hurricane.  That's what they call hurricanes over in southeast Asia, places like India, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

A Mid-Latitude cyclone is the name of a storm that move through the United States, it's basically an area of low pressure with a cold front and warm front attached to it.  You these on weather maps quite a bit.

Finally, some people refer to tornadoes as twisters, some people refer to them as cyclones!

A Tsunami is a 'tidal wave' that forms over the ocean usually because of an earthquake opr something like that.  These are very destructive and trasvel at speeds up to about 600 mph!
