I want to be a full-time resident student. I don't understand the "Credits in excess of 18" part. Does it mean that I have to pay more the more credits I get? Why is that?

Please help, I'm English and home-schooled and really confused!

Thank you so much for your time. :)

  1. Full-time tuition at most schools is for if you are taking anywhere from 12-18 credit hours in one semester.  For example, if the tuition and fees for a full-time student is $5000 per semester, you will be charged $5000 if you are taking 12 credit hours, if you are taking 15 credit hours in one semester, you will still be charged $5000, if you are taking 18 credit hours during one semester, you will charged $5000.  However, if you enroll in 20 credit hours for one semester, you will be charged the $5000 plus an additional tuition charge for taking more then 18 credit hours in one semster.

The charges for credits refers to the number of hours you enroll in for a semester, NOT the number of hours you have earned.

    Hope this helps.

  2. If you are enrolled in more than 18 credits per semester, it usually costs extra.

  3. It looks like your university charges a flat $2,000 cost per semester (for up to 18 credits). If you choose to take more than 18 credits you are assessed additional per credit costs to accomodate you.
