  1. It could be a number of things. It could be a benign cyst or a fatty deposit. Which my dogs have had both. I would still take him to the Vet just to be sure, because you never know what it could be without a professional opinion. It's always best to have him checked by a Vet.

Good Luck and I hope everything turns out okay ;)

  2. its just a fatty pocket that develops under the skin. my great dane has one on the center of her back. we squeeze to make it smaller. but just to be on the safe side take her to the vet and have them take a sample of it.

  3. Has your dog ever received a vaccination in that area?  If so, you can report it and find remedies at http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/vaccinat...

    Good luck...

  4. it sounds like nothing.but if you are concerned about you're dog.take you're dog to to THE VET.immediately.

  5. My boxer mix has quite a few "bumps" on her hind legs and hips.  Some she has had longer than others.  We finally just got two of them removed because we noticed that they were getting bigger and that concerned us.  The other smaller ones we just left alone.  The vet can do a biopsy and check it for cancer but it costs quite a bit.  So does getting them cut off but we just decided that we might as well just get rid of some.  We have always been told just to keep an eye on them and if any of them seem to increase in size fairly quickly then it's more of a problem.  Most of the time they are just cysts and they wont hurt your dog.  It sounds like that might be the case with your dog.  Definately have the vet take a look at it at your dog's next appointment.

  6. go to the vet  it maybe a tumor or something bad. whatever is out of the norm should always be evaluated by an expert

  7. As Jennifer said, it could be a fatty lump called a lipoma, which is generally harmless,  But it could be something that should be looked into.  Your vet can do a simple needle aspirate of the lump, where a small amount of fluid is extracted & analyzed.   It is worth your piece of mind to know what it is, harmless or not.  An aspirate should be done on any lump, and the size noted by the vet in order to check it over time to make sure it hasn't grown.    Good luck.

  8. It could be a benign cyst which is a fluid filled ball. Sometimes they go away on their own and other times it has to be surgically removed. If it is benign it will not cause any harm to the dog. The only way to find out if it is harmful to the dog is to call the vet. When you or your mom calls the vet describe it to them and they will decide if the dog needs to be seen or not. Hope this helps.
