Okay- occasionally the lights for my a/c dont come on- like you can press them... my A/c blows, but it blows hot air. I have been having to unplug this wire in the black and re-plugging it back in for it to work- now it just doesn't work any more!! Any suggestions?

Also- I was driving out of town last weekend and all of a sudden it started blowing HEAT- not just hot air- like it was burning hot- then went back to cold then hott then cold?

What is going on?

  1. it may very well be that the cooling tube for the blower motor inside your car has come off or is kinked I remember a bulletin on those years where the tube that vents the heat from the blower motor under the dash either gets clogged or bent and that causes that motor to overheat. when that happens the air conditioning control panel blanks out and the air conditioning stops working.

check the tube on the blower motor case. it will be under the right side of the dash above where the passenger puts their feet. if the hose is disconnected plug it back in.

as for the heat coming on I can't answer that; sometimes they fail in a fail safe mode which is usually the defrost mode which does use the heater. it may also have been ambient air if it was hot outside. hard to say on that one.

    hope that helps
