had a moto rizr from t-mobile. The front buttons fell off and I replaced it with a samsung t-429. I later found out htat you couldn't upgrade the memory and it only has like 4 mb. TERRIBLE. I callet motorola and the rizr problem has been fixed so I want a new one. I don't need to cancel a contract just return samsung and get a new moto. Will they charge me for anything. I will give best answer 10 points

  1. You should be able to switch out the sim card and be all set. That's what I do all the time, just make sure you can transfer any data stored on the old phone to the new one with bluetooth or by putting it on the sim card. If they will charge you depends on your account history. I had to pay full price last time I switched because I had just given my wife a new phone and they wouldn't give me an extension, so you really have to check with them - and T-mobile isn't very friendly in that respect.
