India’s premier Test batsman, Rahul Dravid has denied rumours about rifts within the Indian team after losing the first two matches of the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, saying that such claims commonly emerge when a team is not doing that well.
About six months back, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 by the home team. India is currently being pulled down in Australia by the Kangroos, stripping down claims
of well-playing made by Indian cricket pundits.
There has been immense talk in Indian media that the players are not united and they are not primarily focussing on the game during the tour. There have been claims that some of the senior Indian players do not go along well with each other and it is damaging
the overall atmosphere of the dressing room.
However, Dravid has dismissed all such rumours and said that when a team is not doing that well, such talks usually come out in the media. The right handed veteran further said that the Indian team supercharged with team spirit at the moment and the men
in blue are geared up to make a comeback in the series.
Dravid said, "When you lose 2-0, that's part and parcel of the game. Suddenly everything is wrong. There's absolutely no truth to those (reports about a rift)... the spirit in the team is really good."
Former Indian captain further added that the team wants to improve its performance and the boys are backing each other. He feels that one of the positives for Indian team at the moment is that it is away from home and they do not have to counter the media.
"Obviously there is a sense of disappointment in the result we had so far. We'd like to do better definitely but in terms of spirit, it has been very good. One of the good things about travelling away from home is that you are in a bit of a cocoon. You don't
tend to know what's happening back home", the great batsman added.
