1. Explain how a lever works using the following terms: bar, fulcrum, force. Give 2 examples of levers.

2. Why does a coin at the bottom of a pool look larger than it does out of the water?

Please answer #1 and 2 before 8pm central time (right now its almost 7pm so u have like an hour.)

3. In a canyon, where r the oldest rocks, at the top or bottom of the walls? Explain ur answer.

4. During a volcanic eruption huge amouts of dust can be blown into the atmosphere. What effect could this have on average temperatures in the world?

Pleas answer #3 and 4 before 8pm central tomorrow so u have about 25 hours :)

  1. 1. The bar lays on top of the fulcrum (the pivot point) and force is used on one end to raise or lower the other end.  A see saw and a pry bar are good examples.

    2. Refraction.

    3.  Typically at the bottom, over years sediments gather on top of everything and the immense pressure turns them in to sedimentary rocks.

    4.  It could cool the planet by blocking the sun..

    4. The dust can block sunlight for huge areas.  This would cause cooling of an area.  Huge volcanic eruptions will send dust into the atmosphere which will be blow around and can travel throughout the world.  Such as the famous eruption in washington state
