Pletcher and Repole to go head to head again, this time in the Easy N Dirty Stakes at Saratoga
On 3 August, 2011, veteran trainer, Todd Pletcher, had a little fun at the expense of his primary owner, Mike Repole, when he defeated Mike Repole owned Be Bullish with his trained colt, Ibboyee, for longtime clients Anita and Stuart Subotnick in the $75,000
John Morrissey Stakes at Saratoga.
The race was too close to call as Ibboyee took over Be Bullish right in the final strides just before hitting the wire.
Much to Todd Pletcher’s relief, as he had one over Mike Repole who has majority of his stock with trainer Todd Pletcher.
Be Bullish is trained by George Weaver and he is the son of Pure Prize, out of Smart Holly by Smarten, was coming off a win in an Allowance claimer at Belmont Park on 17 June, 2011.
The race was run over a distance of six furlongs, and under jockey Ramon Dominguez Be Bullish gathered up momentum by holding off the pace at the rear and powered home after a late surge to win over Spirit of Cochise.
The final time for the race was 1 minute and 9.89 seconds. The Allowance win was the 6-year-old gelding’s 3rd win of the 2011 season with four 2nd place finishes out of 8 starts this year.
Ibboyee and Be Bullish will have a chance to duel it out again in the $75,000 Easy N Dirty Stakes exclusively for New York-bred’s. Both horses will be going up the distance by a single furlong compare to their last outing.
With revenge on the cards for Be Bullish, there will be another twist to it as Driven by Success, who is owned by Repole and trained by Pletcher after a long layoff will be looking to make his return, and most probably he will be deployed in the Easy N Dirty
Stakes.
Be Bullish will be joined by Driven by Success and Ibboyee will be a lone runner with a separate betting interest.
Todd Pletcher could win the Easy N Dirty Stakes against Repole by increasing his chances of winning with Driven By Success back for Pletcher.
