Pakistani senior players Kamran Akmal and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 who met the PCB officials are still uncertain about their inclusion in the preliminary squad for ICC World Cup 2011.
After PCB’s announcement regarding their dismissal, the players decided to seek clarification for their suspension from national team. In the PCB headquarters, wicket keeper Kamran Akmal along with Kaneria met board Chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 and some other senior
officials but they returned empty handed.
The trio – Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, and Danish Kaneria, after their failure to get clarification from the ICC were dropped from the national team and New Zealand tour by PCB. They are continuously being ignored by the national selectors despite their
good performance in domestic cricket.
The disappointment of these players increased when PCB refused to issue no-objection certificates for Pakistan’s preliminary tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. Both the senior players who were keenly willing to perform in the Bangladesh League were rejected once again.
"I was very keen to go and play in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 league but the board has told us to just focus on playing in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in domestic cricket," Akmal said.
Kamran, who is playing domestic cricket these days, said that he received many offers from Bangladesh to play in the league starting at the end of this month and he also wished to join but PCB did not give him green signal.
ODI and Twenty20 captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 also wanted the senior players Malik and Kamran back in the national team for the New Zealand tour.
“They (Malik and Akmal) are requirements of the team,” he said on Friday in Karachi. He suggested media personnel to ask the PCB regarding selection of these two players.
After http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Twenty20 and One Day series in UAE, Afridi stressed that the senior players are the vital part of our team and he needed them for the upcoming World Cup.
Discarded wicketkeeper Akmal who has played 53 Tests and 123 One Day Internationals for Pakistan seemed quite disappointed and curious. He wanted to know the reason for which the board has been continuously ignoring him. He was even not allowed to go Dubai
for the Test series against South Africa and he along with other senior players was asked to wait. He said that cricket is his passion and his ambition is to play for Pakistan.
Despite being left out of the national team, Akmal vowed to continue hard-work and make his place in the team once again.
