Pls, suggest some ideas for a speech on "youth employment- A health hazard"?

Hi there-

  I'm not sure what the focus of your speech is.  Are you trying to argue that youth employment is or is not detrimental to health?  Researchers argue on both sides of this coin, and obviously, the health risks are very dependent on the type of employment in which a young person engages.  Some of the greatest health risks to young workers occur when they do not know the risks associated with their jobs.  Check out this website http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/talkingsafety/ for more info about youth health and safety hazards in your state.  

     If you are arguing that youth employment is a health risk, I would speak on the premise that many young people do not understand the hazards that may be at their workplaces, so they come into dangerous situations.  It would be very difficult to argue that overall, youth employment is bad, because in fact, several studies have shown that young people who hold part-time jobs often experience great satisfaction emotionally, socially and even physiologically.  In addition, many youth hold part-time jobs in order to help their families make ends meet, which means their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and educational supplies are better met.

Umm, the young have to work, they come home tired and then they have to keep up with school work in order to graduate.

Education is more important, and working at a young age is risking that for many youth.

uhmmm well if theyre working in a factory they could be seriously injured if they dont know how to use the equipment...
