Pls can anyone advise on train services from baltimore, maryland to richmond, virginia.?

I'm considering taking up a job in richmond , virginia and looking at commuting options.

  1. You could try checking the Amtrak schedule (I'm not sure if they operate that far south, but it's worth a shot, right?).  Or you could just Google trains from Baltimore, MD to Richmond, VA, which may prove more beneficial and/or helpful.  Good luck!


  2. If you're thinking about doing this daily, I'll say you're crazy. The trip is over 3 hours by train. Might as well move down there or try and find a job closer up in MD. Goodluck.

  3. Unfortunately, the only direct rail passenger service between Baltimore MD and Richmond VA would be Amtrak, and it's not cheap--  $60 per single trip.

    Taking MARC to DC and transferring to the Virginia Railway Express will only take you as far as Fredericksburg.

  4. Wait until VRE extends service to Richmond OR VRE provides bus service between Fredericksburg and Richmond.

    You're still looking at a 3 hour trip and the last VRE train arrives in DC before 7 PM.  I hear housing is still cheap in Henrico County....
