Pls help me!! how could u recognize a blood <span title="feather?????????????????for">feather?????????????????f...</span> BUDGIES!

Question

1.how would u recognize a blood feather????

2.then what would i do to protect the blood feather if i am gonna clip the other feathers???

3.then if i clip ONLY one wing, 10 primaries cut and 1 left the most long feather on the tip of the wing, will it unbalance the budgieS???

Devilangel is an idiot, you need to clip the wings for safety reasons. Now for the most part you need to understand that if you do see a blood fether you NEED to pull it out. Or the bleeding wont stop. When you do pull it out the bleeding should stop fairly quickly.  Don&#039;t be scared to do it blood feathers happen all the time. It&#039;s not that big of a deal. If you feel you do want to help the blood stop hold a towel on the spot or for the future go to your local petshop and ask for the powdery stuff that stops birds from bleeding(i cant remember the name of it lol). But keep in mind birds cant loose to much blood, look at how small they are they dont have a lot to loose.

You should be able to see the blood in the quill...  

There are products on the market to stop bleeding - go to your local pet store and ask the clerk and they will show you.  You can also use corn starch in EMERGENCIES only...  The stuff from the pet stores also has an antibiotic in it, so it really is the best to use.  

The main reason to clip wings is to prevent flight.  As long as the budgie can&#039;t fly - clipping one wing would be okay...  It would just look a little funny.  

If you have any questions, you should be able to ask the clerks at your local pet store...  Good luck.

why are you clipping the wings? its so cruel they are born to fly if u dont like them flying get rid of them and buy rats and hamsters.

if u do clip the poor things feaathers then have the heart to get it done buy a vet so you dont kill your budgie or stop it fly permantly. if u get one wing clipped u will unbalance them yes. if this process is for taming them then its not the best choice. your budgies will only be frightened of u and will just fly away from u when the wings are back. please look up on ways to train budgies or if you email me i will help u with the tame on how to...

i hate seeing these questions. birds fly so should stay that way.

just put (Clipping a budgies wings) in your search box and they will tell you what to do. If your still afraid to clip your birds wings have a pro do it.

There will be blood in the quill. It will definitely be darker than the quill of other feathers. You need to watch you bird closely and have a emergency kit near by.
