  1. I would find out why it was recalled.

  2. anything that was recalled should have already been pulled from the shelves and the current stock should be safe.

I would follow the vets advice.

I would call the Vets clinic and talk with them about your concerns. if it is on the recall list. (i am sure they already know this and will give you peace of mind)

  3. yeah

  4. The recall was almost from a year ago.  although there have been recent ones as with very low ends foods like Pedigree which just recently has been recalled.

Canidae is a excellent food and it is 5 star rated.  So is Natures Variety. I would stick to the Lamb formulas as this meat base is usually very stomach and intestinal friendly.

    I hope this has helped!

  5. Any dog food which contains grain can cause digestion problems. Grain is also responsible for skin issues and much more. My dog had problems with diarrhoea and I now  give her a fish based grain free dog food which resolved this. Don't give your dog biscuits.

You should also avoid dairy food, beef and it's derivates.

  6. You could call your vet and ask for alternatives to these dog foods.  Explain your discomfort using these brands.  There are tons of dog foods that aid digestion and I'm sure the vet will understand your fears about the recall foods.  I think it's fine to ask for an alternative to these 2.  I had a dog with digestive issues and I didn't give her either of the ones you've been given.  As someone said, vets are very aware of the recall list.  Just call and voice your concerns.  I wish you and your dog well.  I wish I could remember the food I gave Mutley been she's passed away a little while ago and I gave the food to the local shelter.  I know Science Diet for sensitive digestion was one of them and I mixed that with another digestive aid that was a canned food.
