  1. go to the beach the latest you can and go in as deep as you can

for as long as you can....hope this helpss

  2. If you are really serious about your new  venture, here are some useful tips to share with you::

    >>Use a pool with overhead water, preferably 2-4 m. Swim

at night  when there are the least number of people present

and the lighting is low so as  to create a situation as realistic as possible. Ensure 1 or 2 adults are with you.

    >>Make sure you wear a tight-fitting pair of goggles. Starting from chest-high water, move along the pool wall and  swim slowly to overhead water. Face outward, take a deep breath and let your body remain vertical while looking straight ahead as far as you can. Breathe out a little and let yourself sink to the bottom. Remain there for a few more seconds before kicking to the surface. Repeat this sequence for 5-10 times.

This process alone will give you added confidence to know the behaviour of your body in overhead water, and kill all sinking fears or other aspect of water phobia.

    >>Get a couple of friends who are good swimmers to assess

whether your swimming strokes are really accurate. Are

you capable of swimming 20-30 laps non-stop? That is

a rough gauge of your ability and level. Are you able to

do  the simple back float? Master it first because it is

easy and can be learnt within 20 mins, believe me.

Cheers, i hope you believe, and you shall succeed!

  3. go to a deep swimming pool by your self and practice

    one thats local

maybe really deep like 15 feet

i dont kow how deep you are when your heart gets that way..

    but it just takes practice

and when it is your first time FOR REAL

just dont be scared and face your fear

oh yeah... and if your heart starts beating fast then either that is  a health problem or its just you being nervous

if its serious GO SEE  A DOCTOR

if its just you being nervous then FACE YOUR FEAR

  4. Don't worry, the Navy Seals will conquer that fear for you via their standard training techniques. Relax for now. There's not much you will be able to do between now and next Monday and it will probably make you more anxious to try. Spend this time enjoying family and friends.

    Congrats man . . . good luck!
