  1. it's currently (late november) just going out of spring, summer over christmas..so bring your clothes for warmer weather. there's nothing really that people are against to do with culture and clothes..but if your going to a marae just wear a curteous t-shirt and shorts (jandals are fine). it's pretty windy...so during the day, if you're going to work, then summery things with extra protection help, like a summer dress with cardi and tights, closed shoes are best as well. something that you can wear in cooler weather, and then strip off for the warmer weather. sun screen is a good idea, especially if you're going to the beach. VERY bad uv here, worst in the world. 30+ is fine. you may not feel it, but the sun is HARD. not as humid, just very hot in the sun. cold in the shadows. but not as S****y as some people at the indies in aussz.

  2. All of the above answers are pretty spot on

depending on what type of activities you do adequate footwear for walking, casual clothes like shorts, jeans, sunhats sun glasses you can wear whatever you want you will not offend anyone if you decide to walk around without shoes or if you decide to cover up from head to toe.

  3. ok, we are pretty much on the same level as the US/europe with culture of clothing, bring your latest trendy stuff! look out for the south island as it can be very wet and cold in places, the north island has a mediteranean type climate, sunny most days, with a few showers here and there, temps mainly range from about 18-32 degrees celsius in summer and 8-20 in winter - have fun!!

  4. They speak English there . You will find them very easy going and casual in clothings. If you are going to South Island , it would be quite a lot colder than N.Island esp if it's blowing a southerly wind. See link below for weather info and good luck !

  5. Just telling you latley it has been very hot in the north island  around 30 celceius. Bring everything, in clothes wise, it is very unpredictable!!!!

  6. its HOT here in the summer and COLD in the winter, so pack a bit of both

  7. As someone else said, the weather can change very quickly here in NZ.  Even in the subtropical north, it's a good idea to have some warm clothes.  And don't forget a high-quality sunscreen.  Our UV index gets higher than anywhere else in the world.  Clothing is mostly informal.
