Plug Sockets In Kenya, Bamburi Beach Hotel?

Okay, i'm from the UK, and i've been told the UK plugs fit the sockets out there. But, some people are saying i need transformer style devices to stop the voltage burning out the appliances.

Is this true? If so where can i get one quickly?

I'll be taking: camera charger, phone charger, ipod charger and possibly hair straighteners.

the plugs at bamburi beach hotel are the same as here (uk) the rooms have tv (limited channels) fridge, tea making facilities and a hair dryer, most of the rooms have 3 single sockets, the tv  and fridge use 2 of them, 1 left for your camera  , we always take 2x treble adaptors with us, as you should also take a mosquito burner and mosquito mats, if you have not got one, you can buy them at nakumatt, (supermarket) a short matatu (local bus) ride dow the road, the fare is 20  ksh, about 17 pence.

Hi, I'm from the UK too and stayed at Bamburi Beach Hotel. Their plug sockets are the same so you won't need an adaptor.

Have a great trip - this is an amazing hotel to stay in. I'm SO jealous lol
