Plug iPod into ps3? iPod speaker?

I charge my iPod via my ps3. And wen I was in settings, audio device settings with my iPod plugged into the ps3 there was an option in input devices called iPod! Does this mean I can use the ps3 as an iPod speaker? And if so, how?

yea u can just click on ipod.ipod control.music.icons.those r yur tracks.i dont know if it charges when its plugged in but yea. its like yur TV is a giant speaker.oh yea when it says USB Device (ipod) i ment press the triangle and display all
